Description

Goan Sannas or Goan Steamed Rice Cake also known as Goan Idli very famous Goan Dish, that is served with some dish or made sweeter and mixed with jaggery and served as sweetdish. Easy to prepare Goan Sannas Check our other recipes


Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups Rice (parboiled rice, washed and soaked overnight)
  • 3/4 cup Grated Coconut
  • water
  • 4 tbsp sugar
  • 1 tsp Yeast
  • salt (as required)

Instructions

  1. For Goan Steamed Rice Cake, first, drain the rice and grind finely with water
  2. Then Grind the coconut finely.
  3. Mix together rice, coconut, sugar, yeast
  4. Keep it aside for 3 hours till the mixture level rises
  5. Then add salt and mix well
  6. Grease the idli moulds and pour the batter in it.
  7. Then steam for 15-20 minutes.
  8. Serve Goan Sannas with goan pork sorpotel goes very well.

  • Add Toddy if available while grinding the coconut for better taste

Steamed the goan sannas with jaggery and coconut mixed, it resulted good. Best for festive occasions
