Description

Coconut Rose Modak is a easy and delicious stuffed sweet dumpling made with coconut, condensed milk and gulkand in Indian Common. Very common Ganesh Chaturthi modak prepared at the festival for Indian Desserts. Check how to make rose gulkand modak recipe at home


Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons ghee
  • 1 cup desiccated coconut
  • 1/2 cup condensed milk
  • 2 tablespoon milk powder
  • 2 tablespoons rose syrup
  • 1 + 1/2 teaspoons cardomon powder.
  • 2 tablespoons dry fruits (chopped)
  • 1 teaspoon fennel seed (saunf)
  • 1/ 2 teaspoon cardamon powder
  • 1 tablespoon tutti frooti
  • 2 tablespoon gulkand

Instructions

  1. For rose gulkand modak, first take the frying pan on low flame and add 1 tablespoon ghee.
  2. Add the desiccated coconut and roast it on low flame for 2 – 3 minutes. Then add the condensed milk and milk powder in it and mix well. Turn the gas off.
  3. Add 1 teaspoon cardamon powder and rose syrup. Mix well till the mixture becomes like rose colored. Transfer this mixture to a plate and let it cool down.
  4. In another bowl, prepare the stuffing mixture. Add dry fruits, fennel seeds (saunf), 1/2 teaspoon cardamon powder, tutti frooti, gulkand to the bowl. Mix them very well.
  5. Now we will prepare the modak, first grease the modak mould with ghee. Stuff the mixture on both sides and press it on all sides of the mould.
  6. From the gulkand stuffing mixture, make a small ball and add it to the center of both sides of the mould. Close the mould and press it tightly on all sides and remove the excess from the mould.
  7. Now carefully remove the coconut rose gulkand modak out from the mould. Follow the steps for all the easy and delicious modaks. Garnish with dry fruits.

Notes

  • the mixture should not be sticky it should be like a dough.
  • to avoid stickiness milk powder is added to this recipe
