Goan Marzipan Easter Egg recipe is traditional Goan Easter Egg which is mostly prepared using cashew nuts but sometimes almonds are used. I remember in my childhood my mummy making easter eggs and this her marzipan easter egg goan style recipe which i would like to share. It is a simple marzipan easter egg recipe very easy to make.

Description

Goan Marzipan Easter Egg recipe is traditional Goan Easter Egg which is mostly prepared using cashewnuts but sometimes almonds are used. I remember in my childhood my mummy making easter eggs and this her marzipan easter egg recipe which i would like to share. It is a simple marzipan easter egg recipe very easy to make. Ingredients

Scale
  • 500 gms cashewnuts / almonds
  • 500 Icing Sugar
  • 5 egg whites
  • few drops of vanilla / almond essence
  • colors

Instructions

  1. Using the grinder make fine powder of almonds / cashewnuts.
  2. Separate the egg whites and beat them till fluffy.
  3. In a large pan mix together the almonds / cashewnuts powder with icing sugar, beaten egg white and essence.
  4. Knead this mixture gently to form a nice smooth dough.
  5. Divide the dough into 7 to 8 parts and place them on plate dusted with icing sugar
  6. On every dough put 1 to 2 drops color of your choice and knead them well.
  7. Finally you can either place this on different types of moulds for different shapes or with your hands you can mould them to egg shapes.
  8. Decorate with royal icing and wrap with decorative paper.

Notes

  •  If you are using almonds soaks them in hot water for atleast 20 minutes, then remove the skin and let it dry before making powder. – You can use any color or essence of your choice – After mixing the color you can add different goodies along with the dough and give smooth egg shape from outside.
